Prince William County Community Services Board New Horizons Program 7969 Ashton Avenue Manassas, VA 20109 Provides family systems therapy to individuals, couples, and families. I also conduct individual and group therapeutic services with students in two local schools. I have been trained in Motivational Interviewing to effectively treat clients with a focus on his or her strengths. Therapeutic services cover a variety of clinical problems such as anxiety, individual psychological problems, relationship problems, and child-parent problems. July 2006 - Sept. 2007 Family Counselor Youth Villages 2020 14th Street N. Arlington, VA 22201 Used systemic models of therapy to include empirically-based Multisystmic Therapy (MST) to provide intensive home-based services. I developed and implemented interventions to focus on the family, child, school, community, and peer groups. I worked to creatively combine structural and strategic models of treatment with the MST model to adequately provide interventions which are more parent-focused bringing change throughout the family, school, community, and peers. Created and followed weekly treatment plans and monthly progress reports. I worked collaboratively with all community service providers involved with the client. Aug. 2005 - June 2006 Marriage and Family Therapist / Intern Liberation Programs, Inc. Greenwich, CT Provided therapy to individuals, families, and couples seeking substance abuse and recovery treatment. Viewed problems from a systemic framework with an emphasis on structural and strategic models of therapy. I helped clients identify behaviors and problems related to their addictions, and completed and implemented individualized treatment plans. Worked with community resources and psychosocial support systems to develop comprehensive treatment, referral, and discharge plans. I monitored the eating of meals closely and reinforced rules during groups. Conducted health and nutrition groups. I maintained therapeutic relationships with patients. Wrote progress notes from observations during group sessions. Nov. 2002 - Dec. 2003 Research Coder Fordham University Center for Ethics Education Bronx, NY Organized research data for a study being conducted to examine the ability of individuals with mental disabilities to be research participants. I ensured that the participants' confidentiality was maintained. Coded participants' responses for the researchers.
